DESCRIPTION:The Extreme Energy Initiative (EEI) has teamed up with audio visual art collective D-Fuse to create an installation which will be open during the weekend of the Bloomsbury Festival\, 19-20 October. \nD-Fuse and EEI researchers have created an immersive audio/visual installation about extreme energy and consumption\, Senate House 19-20 Oct\, 12-6pm \nExtreme energy is the process whereby energy extraction methods grow more intense over time\, as easier to extract resources are depleted. The process is driven by unsustainable energy consumption and is important because extraction effort is strongly correlated with damage to both society and the environment. Read more \nThis installation brings to life research on extreme energy and the harm it causes to society and the environment.  Step into a world of light and sound to learn more about the most crucial\, current and cutting edge research into human rights and the environment. \nThis event is free and open from 11-6pm on Saturday 19 October and 12-6pm on Sunday 20 October. \n \n  \nIf you would like to find out more about fracking ahead of time\, we recommend watching the film Drill Baby Drill (Lech Kowalski) about fracking in the U.S. and Poland. \nTo find out more about the tar sands in Alberta\, Canada\, watch Taking on Tarmageddon (Campbell Road Productions)\, featuring student activists from Canadian First Nations and People & Planet.
