You may not have heard that BP have two new tar sands projects on the go, have just closed down their US wind business, and are having a hard time defending themselves in court over the Deepwater Horizon drilling disaster. Ideas for a Change are organising a screening of Gasland Part 2 in Banbury. However, as the documentary is 2 hours long they'll be starting at 7.25pm on the dot in order to finish by 9.30pm. Entry is free, but they'd welcome a donation towards the costs of hiring the room. Feel free to turn up from about 7pm onwards in order to get a seat.

As part of his UK Autumn tour, Paul Mobbs will be presenting his latest research on the political and economic lobby behind the promotion of unconventional gas extraction in Britain. As well as covering the situation nationally, he'll also give a round-up of what's happening with the proposals for shale gas ("fracking") in North Oxfordshire and underground coal gasification (UCG) in mid-Warwickshire. Entry is free, but Ideas for a Change would welcome a donation towards the costs of hiring the room.
